ANCESTORS

As we continue grow and listen as an organization, it's important to the Stratford Pride Community Centre to recognized that it is our great privilege to gather and connect over shared experiences on this beautiful territory, which has been the site of human activity — and for many thousands of years and through many generations of Indigenous peoples. We wish to honour the ancestral stewards of this land and its waterways: the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Wendat, and the Attiwonderonk. Today many Indigenous peoples continue to call this land home and act as its guardians, and this responsibility extends to all peoples, to share and care for this land and allof its people for generations to come.
