Fox always knew who they were, even without the words for it — coming out later in life as queer, after growing up without any real reference point for what that could look like. Being non-binary has also been an important part of that experience, shaping how they move through the world and the community they’ve built.

Fox grew up between Hamilton and Niagara, and moved to Stratford in 2019 — drawn partly by their partner’s roots here. What started as a move for family has grown into a real love for the city. Being partnered to a trans man opened Fox’s eyes to just how little visibility and support exists for trans folks, and that became a driving force behind getting involved with Stratford Perth Pride as a volunteer. Fox wanted to help build something bigger than a single festival weekend — a place where queer and trans people in the community could see themselves represented year-round. That drive carried Fox from volunteering into a lead organizer role of the annual Pride Festival, and now into a seat on the Board of Directors as Secretary.

Professionally, Fox works at the intersection of legal and tech, designing and building customized systems that help organizations run more smoothly and efficiently — a skill set they bring to their board work as much as their day job.

Fox lives in Stratford with their partner, Jo, and their teenager, Jayden.

Visibility for the next generation is close to Fox’s heart — making sure young queer and trans people growing up here have the language, reference points, and community that weren’t always available before.
