Marijke has been an ally and advocate of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community since well before her own personal discovery as a bisexual. She believes deeply in the power of community, visibility and actively inclusive spaces, and has experienced its power in many parts of the world.

 

Marijke helped organize the 2024 & 2025 Pride Festivals, and joined the SPP board in 2025. Beyond her SPP work, Marijke also leads several queer-focused initiatives through her workplace, including developing training programs to support queer women in leadership.

 

Marijke believes in the capacity of humans to continually examine, challenge, and evolve their thinking toward greater kindness. As a professional in adult education, she knows the impact that social learning, meaningful conversation, and knowledge-sharing can have in creating effective change.
